On Monday afternoon the RSPB warden found an adult male Black-winged Stilt at the new scrape on the marsh. It stayed overnight and was enjoyed by scores of local birders as it fed well at fairly close range. I managed to obtain some really pleasing pics the Tuesday morning from 05.30, along with Reuben Veal. For an hour we had the bird to ourselves in stunning early morning light. This is the first record since May 1992 at the marsh.
