These two adult Mediterranean Gulls were resting up on the car park at Swanpool today. The lower bird sports two leg rings, the white darvic plastic ring reading 3P71. It was ringed at Fiskeholm, Hårby, in Denmark on 13 June 2007 and is one of the very few Danish white-ringed Med Gulls. (Thanks Mark Grantham and Camille Duponcheel.)
This was also a bird I saw on Men-aver beach, Nare Point, on 14th November but not since.
ReplyDeleteHi Jeremy, the images were taken with a 600mm F4 from the car window. Aperture set to F4. ISO 640. Shutter speed also 1/640s. Exposure -0.7 EV. Matrix metering. The light was appalling, really dark and dull grey, as it has been for most of the weekend! Regards. Steve
ReplyDeleteJust got the details back on this bird and it was ringed at Fiskeholm, Hårby, in Denmark on 13 June 2007. It was also seen at Nare Point on 10 February 2011.
ReplyDeleteWhite 3P71 is one of the very few Danish white-ringed Med Gulls. Other sightings of this individual bird are most welcome! Please send these to Camille Duponcheel
