Alder Flycatcher, Nanjizal, Cornwall. 9th October 2008

The empid flycatcher at Nanjizal has today been trapped and now proven to be Britain's first record of Alder Flycatcher. The measurements were apparently at the top end of its range. It had obviously been feeding well as its weight was also at the top end of the scale. With a drop in pressure overnight, Thursday evening was the last time it was seen.
